Driver Training

Dear Parents / Guardians

Grande Prairie and District Catholic Schools is once again happy to offer Driver Training during the 2019 – 2020 school year in cooperation with Start Rite Driver Education Ltd. The price of this program offering is $425 per student.  Click here to access Driver Training Forms.

We will be offering 3 different course times;

September 24, 25 2019  at St Joseph Catholic High School

February 11, 12 2020  at St John Paul II Catholic High School

February 25, 26 2020   at St Joseph Catholic High School

If you register for a course at a school where your child does not normally attend it will be the family’s responsibility to arrange transportation to the course on both days and pick them up at the end of the day.

Registration will be on a first come first pay basis; however I will be reserving the September course for students that are already 16 years old or will be turning 16 before Christmas. If this is not your child then please wait to register for the courses in February. In order to take part students must already have completed and passed the class 7 (beginners license) drivers test or already have passed the class 5 drivers test.

The course consists of 15 hours of in class lessons and 10 hours of in car training. Students must complete the entire time to pass the course and receive the insurance reduction certificate. If your child is more than 30 minutes late on the first day the spot will be offered to the next person on the wait list.

To be awarded the high school credits the students will also be given 3 assignments that must be competed and handed in.

To be considered registered in the program all forms must be filled out completely, returned to myself or your school office and money paid at your school office.

Payment for the September course will have to be made via debit, credit or cash. We will not be able to accept checks as there will not be enough time for them to clear the banks before the course begins.
